About Arabesque Hotel

The building is almost 300 years old, although it also has building stones that are a thousand years old, dating back to the time of the Crusaders, and it includes two large halls – one of which has a small grand piano – and a chef’s kitchen for events; pleasant courtyards with a purity fountain that makes soothing splashing sounds; And seven rooms rich in unique elements, including high ceiling, original stone walls, tiled floors, antique furniture and works of art. In all rooms you will also enjoy all the comforts of a modern hotel (TV, air conditioning, comfortable furniture, kitchenette).

Hotel History

Arabesque was inaugurated in April 2016, and occupies two beautifully restored and lovingly renovated Ottoman buildings, in the heart of ancient Acre on the northern coast of Israel. The hotel was founded by Evan Fallenberg and and his son Micha, with a vision to bring a new spirit to Acre and to be part of the neighborhood landscape of the city. They saw the ideal and importance of partnership from the beginning of the project. The hotel is located right in the center of the old city, less than a five-minute walk from all the main points of interest – the market, the knights’ halls, the Templars’ tunnel, the Al-Jazar mosque, the Turkish bath, the port area and the other tourist sites of Acre. At all hours of the day, visitors can stroll through the beautiful winding alleys and even on the city walls, you are invited to lose your way and discover magical and hidden corners. Wherever you go, you’ll always be a few minutes’ walk from the hotel door, and thanks to Arabesque’s central location, you’ll feel right at home in the neighborhood.

Our vision

Arabesque is a magical and unique place to spend a few nights (and days) while on vacation in Acre, but it is also much more than just another small boutique hotel. Arabesque’s mission is to serve the local community and provide a space for cultural events; promote the local talents and hold music, literature, art and culinary events; promote local artists, from Israel and from all over the globe, and give them a peaceful place to complete their artistic projects; And also to host private events of all kinds, out of a desire to foster dialogue through art. The population in the old city of Acre – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – is mostly Muslim, but the project itself is the fruit of the joint labor of Muslims, Christians and Jews alike. For us in Arabesque, art and culture are a unifying factor, also – and perhaps mainly – in a region full of disputes like the Middle East.

Meet our team

Even
Professor of creative writing and literary translation at Bar Ilan University. He is one of the owners of the hotel, and came to Acre to look for a place to live. And from the first second he fell in love with Acre and saw the potential for something beyond a place to live. Thus, within 20 months, with the help of top notch professionals, he managed to turn the place into the hotel you see today.
Micha
He is the founder of the hotel, son of one of the owners and previous manager of the hotel. He finished his position as the hotel manager and moved to live with his partner in Haifa. Although today he is not physically present at the hotel as in the past, he is still an integral part of the team and is available to answer any inquiries.
Lena
Reception manager, born in Acre, after high school she moved to live in Spain for a year, and returned to us speaking perfectly 4 languages. She is one of the oldest employees in the hotel, she managed to prove herself very quickly, integrate into the work and get the managerial position by virtue.
Roman
By chance, he met the manager at his previous job, and suddenly found himself working as one of the reception team. Roman is not only a receptionist but also a guide with a specialization in the Crusader period. He will always be happy to share his knowledge with our guests to make their experience more authentic and interesting.
Sasson
Despite being a new team member of the hotel, he has already managed to prove himself as one of its significant employees. He added the musical part to the artists' abode. You can also meet him at one of the events that the hotel offers not as an employee but as one of the musical band members.
Maharan
One of the oldest of the hotel and the operational manager. Born and and raised in Acre for 34 years. "It took me a year and a half to agree to work as a receptionist at the hotel, and from the moment I started working I knew it was the right step I had taken." Maharan holds a double degree in Sociology and Nursing. Maharan and his whole family are neighbors of the hotel, and he always answers every call from big to small (not only medical calls).
Roi
The manager of the new hotel, a father of two with a great love for ducks and the owner of the Duck You shopping chain. "I arrived at the hotel out of great admiration for the charm of the city and the warmth of the wonderful people. The history of the city is as magnificent as the sea view that can be seen from every corner. I arrived at the hotel after almost 15 years in the hotel and hospitality industry, and we will do everything for you when you come to stay."
Um Marwan
Biologically, she is a mother of five, and a grandmother of eight. Theoretically, she is the mother of the entire hotel staff. She is both part of the maid team and a neighbor of the hotel. So if you happen to be sitting in the courtyard of the hotel and smell the delicious food, you will know that Um Marwan is preparing food for the family.
Rino
The housekeeper. She started working when she was seven months pregnant of her second pregnancy, and today she is the mother of two amazing children aged 11 and 6. Rino made sure from the first day that the hotel opened that everything was clean, tidy, with a good taste and smell.
Arij
Being in charge for the main hotel compound, she’s the one who makes sure that both the rooms and the reception area are clean and tidy to receive the hotel guests, because the hospitality experience begins at the entrance to the hotel, even before the guests are brought into their rooms. Arij is also the hotel's close neighbor, and she will be happy to provide room service if necessary even outside of working hours.
Riham
She’s mainly responsible for the exterior hotel rooms. Although she is a mother of three charming children, working at home does not prevent her from giving her all at the hotel in order to make the hospitality experience pleasant and enjoyable by making sure that all the rooms are clean and ready in time to receive the guests.
Najla
Always with a smile on her face, she’s responsible for the rooms of the adjacent building, she’s punctual and pays attention to the small details, ensuring all is perfect. It doesn't bother her to go up and down several times between the rooms, but it does bother her to receive bad reviews from the guests.
